On occasion of the presentation of the Greek statue of Athena Nike, forming part of the archaeological collection belonging to Fondazione Sorgente Group, and dated around 430 B.C., the same Foundation, pursuing the idea of the Vice President Paola Mainetti, has organized an exhibition with a multimedia installation, projected and realized by Paco Lanciano, the responsible of Mizar. In this way Paola Mainetti succeeded in reaching her goal, that is bringing to life the sculpture for the visitor, revealing its secrets, inciting emotions and involvement. Thanks to the innovative technological installations applied to archaeology, the Athena Nike statue, deprived of many of its parts, is finally comprehensible to the public. Technology has finally been made available to archaeology, explaining in a simple and intuitive way, through various images and sound effects, the result of the scientific studies carried out by Eugenio La Rocca, Professor of Greek and Roman History of Art at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome. Explanatory footage in 3D provides further detailed descriptions of the sculpture, with a reconstruction of the original hypothetical context within an Attic temple. On this occasion other marbles of the IV century B.C. belonging to Fondazione have also been put on display.
